As a young girl her illness began to take hold. She was in hospital. She was later diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. The skater's career with Denis Samokhin was what made the legend. They competed together for 2 Junior World Championships and placed 7th both times in 1993 and 1994. She worked briefly alongside Maxim Kachanov. Later, the pair finished fifth in the Goodwill Games. This partnership also proved to be productive, and the two won the Finlandia Trophy on two occasions and competed at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. They also achieved more as a team, but their best moment was placing 15th in the 1998 World Championships.
