Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born 3 May 1986. She was a student at the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her role includes Loup (2009) and Sleepless Night (2011). She portrays the role of Mantis, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was raised in Quebec City to a Korean father and a French-Russian wife. He worked as consul with the French government. Eugene Klementieff was her grandfather. Her parents picked the name "Pom" due to the fact that it's similar in pronunciation to Korean words for "spring" as well as "tiger". Klementieff resided in Canada for one year before her family went on a long trip due to her father's employment. They lived in Japan as well as the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. Her father, who passed away in the age of five from cancer was also her mother. She was also suffering with schizophrenia and didn't have the time for her children. Klementieff was raised with her paternal uncle and aunt. Her uncle, who she described as "like [her] father" died when she was 18 years old. Her older brother who committed suicide seven years later, was her aunt. After her uncle's passing, Klementieff attended law school briefly to impress her aunt. However, she didn't consider the profession appealing. Also, she worked as a waitress in France as well as a salesperson. In the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris, she began acting at the age of 19. After a few months of education, she was awarded a theater competition that awarded the opportunity to take classes for free for two years with some of the best teachers. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006) and was her first professional acting gig. Filming for her scenes was a three-day process. The plan was for Klementieff to push another person along a set staircase, but she accidentally fell to the ground. Gael Mostl kept the footage in the film. Loup (2009) was her first lead role in a film. It is an French movie about a tribe in Siberian mountain reindeer herders. The film was shot in a camp hours away from the closest village. The camp was where temperatures plunged to zero.
