Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) and was a national director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright, a
pharmacist executive. She was raised in San Diego, California. At the age of
14, she started her professional career in modeling. She was a model in Paris
and Japan. When she graduated from high school she became an actress. She was
cast in the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), in which she was nominated 3 more
times for Daytime Emmys. In the initial season of the show, she became a fan of
co-star Dane Witherspoon, whom she was married in 1986. She also appeared in
The Princess Bride (1987) playing the title character. After she left Santa
Barbara, she was given the lead role in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. It was
during State of Grace (1990) in the year she got to know Sean Penn. They had a
daughter Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After a break, Robin was back to
Hollywood with one of the greatest parts of her career: She played Tara in The
Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning and amazing. She starred in Toys
(1992) in the comedy featuring Robin Williams. It was hilarious. Wright
appeared in 1994's blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. For her
performance as Jenny she earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe Award. She
was offered a small part in The Crossing Guard (1995) which starred Jack
Nicholson. After turning down 14 roles, she played the title character of
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan
Freeman and Stockard Channing. Then, she starred in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997)
co-starring William Hurt.
