Alyson Lee Hannigan
Alyson Lee Hannigan (born on March 24, 1974) is an American actress and television presenter. She is most well-known for her performances in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-1903), How I Met Your Mother (2006), and as Lily Aldrin (1905-2014). In 2009, she took home a People's Choice Award. Hannigan presents Penn & Teller, the comedy series that fools Us in 2016, and has been doing so since. Hannigan also voices the character of Claire Clancy in the Disney Junior animated series Fancy Nancy (2018-present). Hannigan was born in Washington, D.C., as the sole daughter of Emilie (Posner) Haas, who works as a real estate agent, to Alan Hannigan, who is an Teamsters trucker. Hannigan's father has Irish descent and her mother is Jewish. At age four, Hannigan began appearing in commercials. At the age of eleven Hannigan moved to Hollywood with her mother. While visiting Santa Barbara, her father, she auditioned for agents. After graduating from high school, she went to California State University Northridge where she was a part of Alpha Chi Omega and obtained a degree as a psychologist. Hannigan's debut film role was on My Stepmother Is an Alien A science-fiction-based comedy, which debuted in 1988. One of her co-stars on the film was actor Seth Green, who later joined her in the main ensemble of Buffy as her on-screen boyfriend. Her first role was on the ABC sitcom Free Spirit in the year 1989. As a teen, Hannigan played babysitter for the kids of her future How I Met Your Mother costar, Bob Saget. In 1997, Hannigan was cast to be the character Willow Rosenberg, Buffy Summers Best Friend on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.The show was a big success and Hannigan received recognition afterward, appearing in a variety of films targeted at teenagers, such as American Pie (1999), Boys and Girls (2000), American Pie 2 (2001) and American Wedding (2003).She also had an appearance as a guest on the Buffy spin-off, Angel, reprising her role of Willow in a few episodes
