Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan, born on the 23rd of March, 1976, is an American actress. She is well-known for her leading roles in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). She has also received recognition for her leading role in the role of Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On the television screen, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the first season of the crime-drama show True Detective (2014), where she earned a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the drama The Path, a drama series The Path (2016), she played the character of Sarah Lane. Monaghan was the protagonist of the 2020 Netflix thriller, Messiah. It was pulled after one season. Monaghan was the daughter of Sharon Hammel and Robert Monaghan (a factory worker) and was born in Winthrop, Iowa. Bob as well as John are her elder brothers. Monaghan is an Catholic of Irish and German origin and graduated from East Buchanan High School, 1994. She moved to Chicago after graduating to study journalism at Columbia College Chicago. Then she started modeling. She has modelled in Milan and Tokyo, Tokyo, Hong Kong and the United States. She quit New York for an acting career after she completed her 1999 journalism degree. Prior to her acting career, she was models and has appeared in numerous catalogs and magazines. Monaghan was recognized in two television roles as supporting characters in Young Americans' episodes in 2000. Her second appearance on television was in Law & Order: Special Victims United in "Consent" that aired on January 19, 2001. Monaghan also made her debut on screen in Perfume that year as Henrietta. The next film she appeared in, with a supporting part made it to the screen in 2002 with Unfaithful, starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
